Google Chrome Package Now Deploys Chrome Based On Target Architecture

Purpose:
You can't find the Google Chrome Enterprise (64-bit) package in the Package Library.

Resolution:

Import the package called Google Chrome Enterprise from the PDQ Deploy Package Library.

PDQ Deploy now installs Google Chrome Enterprise based on target architecture. We are doing away with the 64-bit only Google Chrome package and instead are placing two Install steps in the main Google Chrome Enterprise package. These steps will install Chrome based on the target architecture (32-bit or 64-bit).

We are following the direction of Google who is using the Auto Update feature in its software to update 32-bit Chrome to 64-bit on appropriate systems. They began doing this in version 58.0.3029.96.

Those customers using Auto Deployment to update 64-bit Chrome will need to attach the new Google Chrome Enterprise package to their Auto Deployment schedules.

Please note that 64-bit targets will receive the 64-bit version of Chrome regardless of the amount of memory on the target.
