Installing Lotus Notes

When deploying Lotus Notes you may need to set the Deployment to Run as Local System.

Below is an example of a Deploy Now window for Lotus Notes 8.5.3. This deployment will connect to the target systems using the Deadwood\Dan.Dority account. After connecting and copying the installation files from my network share down to the staging directory (using Dan.Dority creds) the installation will execute as Local System.

This deployment  wouldn't work if, during the installation, a network resource needed to be referenced. This is because once the "Lotus Notes 8.5.3.msi" is executed the rest of the installation will be running as Local System and will not have access to network resources*.

* - If you had Delegation enabled in Active Directory you would be able to have Local System access network resources.
