A change was made in PDQ Deploy 3.0 regarding folders that get created on target machines during a deployment. We intended to only change the target folder on new installations of PDQ Deploy. Any database that was upgraded was supposed to use the previous default. However the old default is only preserved if you upgraded from 2.2x to 3.0. If you have upgraded from PDQ Deploy 2.3.x to 3.0.1 or 3.0.2 then your default target folder will change. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Here is a breakdown of the folders that are used and how you change them if needed. If you upgraded from 2.2.x to 3.0 then this won't affect you.
Previous default: ADMIN$
New default: ADMIN$\AdminArsenal
Remember that ADMIN$ is the default administrative share name for your Windows directory. To deploy to a computer called Otto-01 PDQ Deploy will connect to \\Otto-01\ADMIN$ and create the necessary deploy folders.
In 3.0 you can change this via the Target Service panel in Preferences.
Remember that the first time a target computer processes a deployment a folder called PDQDeployRunner is created under either ADMIN$ (PDQ Deploy 2.3 or earlier) or ADMIN$\AdminArsenal (PDQ Deploy 3.0 +)
This could negatively affect your deployments if you have an Anti Virus program that deletes the deployment files before they can be used.
If you had previously setup anti virus exclusions for Windows\PDQDeployRunner please change them to %WINDIR%\AdminArsenal.
