Install never completes when installing Office 2007 or 2010

If your install seems to hang (never ends) when pushing Office 2007 or 2010, take a look at your parameters. Usually Windows doesn't make you specify file types when calling certain files, but in the case of your /adminfile or MSP file, you need to put the full file name, including the .MSP. (see image below)

Note that if you omit the .MSP in your filename your install will hang indefinately because the installer (setup.exe) is confused. It sees that you passed the /adminfile parameter but it is not able to find the file without the full filename.

There are multiple reasons why Office 2010 or 2007 would hang, and it usually comes down to incorrectly passed parameters.

Installation will hang if you use a space in the .MSP filename

Replacing the space with '-' solved this issue that is was hanging till it timedout

Another option would be to wrap the argument in double quotes. (The default separation of multiple command line parameters in Windows is a space.)
