Deploy 17 Upgrade - "Waiting for Agent"

You wish to understand why integration between PDQ Inventory 16.5 and PDQ Deploy 17 may appear to be non-functioning, and/or the Inventory Agent statuses appear to be hung in a "Waiting for Agent" state.

After an upgrade to PDQ Deploy 17, when using the Inventory Agent you must restart BOTH the PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory background services. To restart the background services, click Options > Background Service > Restart Background Service, OR restart the services manually from services.msc (this is done from your PDQ console Server). 

If you have already started deployments to targets with the Agent after the upgrade, and you have not restarted the background services, you will need to restart the services and then re-deploy your packages.
